Horncastle, Lincolnshire LN9 5PN http://www.horncastlesquash.co.uk/ Horncastle Community Members Squash Club HCMSC is a facility that is run by the members for the members and local community. In short, the members formed a company limited by guarantee in November 2006, raised monies from various sources over the following months, thus enabling us to secure a mortgage and purchase the club in early April 2008. We operate on a not for profit basis and we are currently applying for “Community Amateur Sports Club” status to underline this. Our facility has 2 squash courts, a gym / weights room, 2 snooker tables, a pool table and a fully licensed bar with guest ales. The squash section is buoyant with 13 monthly leagues, 3 competitive teams and regular tournaments and social events. We have the strongest junior section in Lincolnshire, with our juniors forming the bulk of the junior county teams. We have coaches at level 1, 2 and 4 and England Squash have given us bronze accreditation. The gym / weights room is run by a former world champion power lifter, Marc Giles and has a full range of free weights, resistance and cardio-vascular machines. There are weekly men’s and ladies’ circuits, with personal training also available with Marc. The snooker is currently run on a purely social basis, although the committee would welcome any teams seeking a home venue. |
